Backlight is not a stylistic device but a choice.
Backlight in architectural photography is not an effect to be fixed later, but a decision made on location. What looks controlled in a black and white preview can reveal flare artifacts and ghosting once color is introduced. This makes backlight a matter of planning, timing, and technical awareness rather than post production correction. The image only holds when light, structure, and control align at the moment of capture.
